Truth
Jesus wasn’t politically correct so why should we be?
Politics is ruled by worldly standards. This planet is ruled by worldly standards. The Bible is a direct opposition of the worldly views we are shrouded in. We live in a world where it’s okay to sin as long as it “doesn’t hurt anyone and as long as we are ‘happy’”. Sin is sin, regardless of what it is and how minute we think it is.
Therefore, I believe it is better to offend someone with the truth than to water it down. Jesus did not speak out of politically correctness but rather, He spoke of the blunt truth that was meant to set us free from sin and eternal condemnation. Of course, we must always speak with grace and humility and out of love but that should not give us the excuse to water the truth down.
If any Christian would dare to water down the truth that is found in the Bible, I would question if whether or not they really are who they say they are because in Matthew 6:24, Jesus said: “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other.” You either serve the Truth—which is Jesus—or you serve this world in contradiction to the Truth. You cannot have one foot in and one foot out. If anything, that would be considered lukewarm Christianity. I admit that I’ve been sucked into the world as well but there is a difference between wanting to walk with Christ and choosing to live in ignorance.
And if anyone chooses to deny the truth, I would certainly not force anything upon them. They’ve heard the truth. It’s up to them whether or not they choose to accept it or deny it.
All in all, we must always choose to stand by Jesus no matter what or who comes our way.
